Do you know someone who is inspired by making things fly, hover, or take off? The Carolina Aeronautical Academy will bring STEM activities that will get our campers to take flight!
What it takes to think like an engineer
The four forces that help an airplane fly
Build and repair like an avionics technician
Fly like a Carolina Aeronautical Academy Airmen
To solve their real-world open-ended design challenge, students will utilize the engineering process of design.

FAQ
The Carolina Aeronautical Academy is an exciting aeronautical engineering after-school program that is designed to give students a broad understanding of engineering concepts that they will use while they learn to build, test and fly drones.
The camp is open to students in high school, middle school, and upper and lower elementary school students. The Carolina Aeronautical Academy is tailored to suit the needs of each grade level. Please Note: For the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year, the CAA will cater to middle and high school students.

Your child will have the opportunity to explore various engineering disciplines, such as aeronautical engineering, 3D computer aided design (CAD), mechanical engineering, and more. They'll learn problem-solving skills, teamwork, and how engineers design solutions.
The camp is led by experienced engineering and science educators and professionals who are enthusiastic about inspiring young minds.
The CAA will feature a variety of hands-on projects, engineering challenges, design activities, and creative problem- solving exercises.
CAA after-school program has eight-weekly sessions grouped within an eight-week academic quarter. Each quarter will have new lessons, design build activities, and projects that will “piggy-back” from the previous quarter.
Weekly sessions are comprised of two classes per week that takes place as follows:
High School - Monday and Tuesday ~ 3:30PM-5:30PM
Middle School - Thursday and Friday ~ 3:30PM-5:30PM
Week 1-3: Awareness of Aeronautics
Week 4-5: Cognitive Skills in Aeronautics
Week 6-7: Aeronautical Principles
Week 8: Aeronautical Disciplines
Please Note: Our curriculum will periodically change to suit the needs of our learners and challenge them to the demands of the current/future industry.
What is the cost of the CAA program?
The cost of the program is $1280 for 8 weeks. Families have the option to pay for the full academic quarter, where registration fees are removed, or pay monthly. Should a cohort begin a program session within the academic eight-week quarter, then the cost of that session will be prorated.
Our elementary after-school program, upper and lower school, will begin the fall school year 2024-2025.
No prior engineering knowledge is required. The camp is designed to be inclusive and suitable for beginners as well as those with an interest in engineering.
You can register your child by visiting our websitewww.CAA.com and completing the online registration form. Please register early to secure your child's spot.
Once students have registered for the CAA program, CAA will work in conjunction with Northside Christian Academy in its selection process to ensure that each cohort consist of a variety of diverse learners.
